How many of our children were led to their First Communion by this dedicated teacher! How many were instructed in the basics of the faith year after year here at St. Gertrude the Great!
At May Crowning, Confirmations and countless processions, hers was an assured presence, looking after the little ones.
At the same time, Sharon did her best to take care of the children in her own extended family, for whom she was a tower of strength, a real guiding presence.
The lack of money never stopped Sharon, nor hindered her good works. She stretched and made do, coming to church and school each day from a great distance, and always managed to help others. Her family has no money for a funeral. It is up to us, her friends and church family, to help.
She did for others. Let us provide for her now.
In Lent particularly, Our Lord calls upon us to take care of those who have sacrificed to take care of our souls. Please join with us in this corporal work of mercy for “the least of His brethren” to bury the dead.
The funds donated will be used exclusively for Sharon’s funeral expenses, paid directly by our church. Any remaining money will be dedicated to Masses for the repose of her soul.
