Help Sharon Fernando Fight Leukemia

Donation protected

My sister Sharon Fernando who lives in Sri Lanka was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago.  She underwent removal of her breast followed by chemotherapy and radiation. This loving wife and mother of two young boys was getting back to life, living cancer-free for one year before she was diagnosed with a rare form of acute myeloid leukemia (t-AML), a blood cancer, which developed as a result of her previous chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

I called to wish her for her 50th birthday on September 12th, 2019 and her wish was to be able to see her youngest son finish school. It was two weeks after her birthday that she was diagnosed with leukemia. Her prognosis without treatment is approximately two months to be with us.

Medicine and healthcare is extremely expensive in Sri Lanka. Her treatment will not be covered by health insurance and she has to raise upwards of seventy thousand to provide her with the treatment and medicines she requires.   Sharon could benefit a great deal from any assistance that allows her to get the tests and medicines she needs. Her current list of procedures requires a blood transfusion, bone marrow transplant, and chemotherapy treatments.

There is a UK doctor visiting Sri Lanka who specializes in treating leukemia. I am asking for you to help my sister in this fight against leukemia, and provide assistance to her family during this difficult time. Time is extremely critical. Thank you for all of the love and support.
