This is my beautiful sister, Shannon Martinez. She is a 44 year old wife, mother of two awesome kids, daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She was leading a healthy and active life in Mesa, Arizona with her family.



For the past year, Shannon has been having health issues and losing weight unexplainably. She has been to multiple doctors over the course of many months trying to diagnose what was wrong. On Wednesday, November 25, 2015 (the day before Thanksgiving), Shannon was rushed to the emergency room in sudden, unbearable pain.

After a week of intense and invasive tests in the hospital, she was given the devastating and shocking diagnosis of advanced stage liver cancer. Liver cancer itself is rare, but it is usually found in heavy drinkers, smokers, predominantly males over age 60. Shannon is none of these. How and why she got this horrible disease remains a mystery at this point.

Shannon does not want to put her family into debt for this. We are asking for help to cover her medical costs and for the support of her family. Anything you can give is so greatly appreciated as she battles this. Shannon will be starting treatment this week and we don’t know what her outcome will be. PLEASE help put her mind at ease. We are all in shock at this sudden diagnosis and she will appreciate all your thoughts, prayers and good wishes!
