It is not a secret Shanghai does not have the best reputation for treatment of animals. We have been helping many dogs in the past, but always one by one and on our own account. In August, we got a the horrible news that one of the responsible shelters we work with, will be closed down.
We knew we had to step up, 166 dogs had nowhere to go... Finding a new location with current property prizes is simply impossible. Finding local adopters is extremely hard, puppies are everywhere and purebreds sold online for just 20 Euro...
So we started a massive campaign, we did manage to find some local adopters but most dogs found homes abroad.
In total 58 dogs left the shelter in 2018 and we managed to cover their expenses. THANK YOU. The first 5.177 Euro was used towards them.
At this moment (2018/02/11) 60 dogs are scheduled to leave in 2018. For the remaining dogs we are still trying hard to find a solution, local and abroad.
Thanks to amazing donators and adopters, we managed to cover most expenses. But we ran out of crates and still need to pay for plane tickets. We are "tapped out" of bugging friends and family, hence this post.
On average, we have a shortage of 239 Euro per dog to get the dogs safe abroad.
Please take a moment and look at their pictures, you can find them all on www.shanghai-animal-rescue.com.
As mentionned, besides the dogs who are waiting to go abroad, still many dogs have nowhere to go... These little ones really deserve a good new start! Please let us know if you want any additional information, we would love to hear from you!
Thank you in advance for any donations!
