My husband Shane was diagnosed with multiple myeloma earlier this year. It is a blood cancer that affects plasma cells in bone marrow, and is incurable but treatable. He has already undergone radiation and will now be receiving a stem cell transplant. This process involves collecting his healthy stem cells, receiving high-dose chemotherapy to destroy the diseased cells, and then re-infusing the healthy stem cells to rebuild his immune system. Recovery requires strict isolation, close monitoring, and time away from work. We are hopeful that this procedure will put the cancer into remission for a long time. This journey has been incredibly difficult, but we have been overwhelmed by the love and support from friends, family, and our community. This fund will support us through treatment, recovery, and the financial challenges ahead. Any funds raised beyond our goal will go toward future medical needs.
