We are heartbroken to share the loss of our sweet Shane Cushman, a deeply loved son, brother, nephew, grandson and friend to many; who’s life was abruptly taken too soon at just 16 years old.

Shane was deeply loved by everyone who knew him. He was kind, silly, and a bit shy; but once you got to know him, you saw how genuine and caring he really was. He was also a go-getter in all parts of his life. He loved music, video games, and spending time with his friends. He was himself in every way, and that’s something people will always remember about him.

Right now, our family is facing the unimaginable - having someone taken from you who is so young and so loved. On top of the grief, we’re also dealing with the unexpected costs that come with planning a funeral.

We’re starting this fundraiser to help give Shane the funeral he deserves and to support our family during this incredibly difficult time. Any donation, no matter the amount, truly helps. And if you’re not able to give, sharing this page or keeping his family in your thoughts and prayers means just as much.

This loss has hit Windsor hard. No family should have to go through something like this, and no young person’s life should be cut short because of violence. At the same time, this is something that’s been happening too often. By sharing Shane’s story, we hope it brings more attention to youth fighting and violence in Windsor and reminds people that this isn’t something to ignore. Looking out for each other, speaking up, and supporting one another matters if we want things to change.
