Update: I urgently need help to stay safe, housed, and legal

I urgently need help to survive while multiple public bodies continue to delay, ignore, or pass responsibility between each other.

This fundraiser was originally set up after I had to reduce my working hours because my housing, disability and care situation had become unsafe and unmanageable. I was later made redundant. Since then, the situation has become desperate.

I have not received Universal Credit housing payments since around Easter 2024. I am currently trying to survive on basic Universal Credit of about £340 per month and PIP of about £770 every four weeks, while still facing rent, council tax, unaffordable care costs, food, transport, disability-related costs, and the cost of trying to keep myself safe in an inaccessible home.

I am autistic, have combined ADHD, a spinal cord injury, mobility impairment, alexithymia, IBS, and ongoing neurological symptoms. I use a wheelchair and need practical support to manage daily life, appointments, evidence, complaints, benefits, and safeguarding issues. The systems that are supposed to help have repeatedly failed to respond properly.

I have been asking Universal Credit to explain and resolve the missing housing payments. I have been asking Sandwell Council for support with council tax, housing, floating support, adaptations, safeguarding and care-related issues. I have been asking NHS services and PALS to respond to complaints made during and after unsafe hospital discharge planning. I have been trying to get solicitors and advocates to look properly at the evidence I have collected, but the volume of evidence is huge and I cannot manage this alone.

The most urgent issues are:

Universal Credit has not paid my housing element since around Easter 2024.

Sandwell Council has not provided effective council tax support or the practical floating support I have repeatedly requested.

I have received large care invoices without first having a clear financial assessment or being told what the care would cost.

Ali Asghar my SMBC social worker arranged care agency paperwork while serious safeguarding concerns were unresolved, leaving me frightened that I am being pushed into financial obligations I cannot understand or afford.

I am still living with unresolved housing adaptation and repair issues affecting toileting, bathing, mobility, safety and dignity.

During my hospital admission in March 2026, I made multiple complaintsto PALS and senior NHS contacts about unsafe discharge and lack of reasonable adjustments. I am still waiting for proper responses.

An NHS OT recently told me that, beyond ordering a toilet frame, I need to chase the council myself about unresolved wet room flooring and adaptation problems. I do not have the capacity to keep acting as the project manager for my own safeguarding crisis.

My GP still has not properly resolved written requests about my ADHD diagnosis paperwork from myJanuary 2026 assessment, trauma-informed support, face-to-face review, menopause/HRT advice after hysterectomy, and other health concerns.

The Housing Ombudsman has not yet assigned an investigator. I have been told Sandwell still has time to respond to one outstanding complaint, despite years of wider non-response, delay and deflection.

I am not asking for luxury. I am asking for enough stability to stay housed, fed, warm, connected, legally advised, and safe while these systems continue to stall.

Funds raised will help with:

  • Rent and housing shortfalls while Universal Credit housing payments remain unresolved.
  • Council tax and urgent household bills.
  • Food, toiletries, prescriptions, disability-related costs and transport.
  • Care costs and support needed for safe daily living.
  • Admin, printing, postage, evidence preparation and practical help organising documents.
  • Legal, advocacy or professional support to help resolve benefits, housing, safeguarding and care charge issues.

I have tried to resolve this through official routes: complaints, PALS, councillors, MP casework, solicitors, Ombudsman routes, safeguarding concerns, written requests, evidence bundles and formal correspondence. I keep being told to chase another department, wait longer, explain again, or provide evidence that agencies then do not properly review.

I am exhausted. I am frightened. I am still trying to work constructively, document everything clearly, and communicate in a way that public bodies can understand. But I cannot keep surviving on missing housing payments, unresolved disability support, large care invoices, inaccessible housing, and unanswered complaints.

Any donation, however small, will help keep me afloat while I keep pushing for the official support and accountability that should already have been in place.

If you cannot donate, please share this. The isolation is part of the harm. I need practical help, visibility, and enough breathing room to keep going.
