Rachel Wegman: Missionary to Tanzania

In 2012 at age 18, I had the incredible opportunity to accompany 15 members of my church to Tanzania, an African Nation on the southeast coast of the Continent of Africa. There, I met 62 chidren at the Shalom Orphanage in Karatu, Tanzania who changed the course of my life.

In June 2013, I was blessed to return to Shalom to be reunited with these wonderful children--all orphans-- who have seen and been through horrors most Americans can only imagine.

Now a college sophomore, I am trying to manage the expense of college and expense of a missionary calling that has even caused me to rethink my major in an effort to better serve those in need around our world.
