Service Dog for Daniel
Donation protected
Daniel is a 20 year old, happy, smilely, outgoing guy. He was diagnosed with Cach Leukosdystrophy, also known as (VWM) Vanishing White Matter disease, When he was 4 years old. This diease progresses with the slightest cold and since he was diagnosed he has went from being able to walk to being paralyzed from the waste down. As of about two years ago he had to have his gallbladder removed. He was in the hospital for 3 weeks. In that time of being so sick he lost most of the use in his right arm because the disease progressed. His seizures come in the middle of the night while hes sleeping, meaning my parents dont get that great of sleep because one time Daniel almost suffocated because he had a pillow over his face during his seizure; thank God my father woke up. This dog would be beneficial to my brother in so many ways. The dog could be trained to detect seizures before they happen and can go get help, which would help my parents to sleep easier at night. Since my brother has lost the use of his right hand, he drops a lot of things and has to wait for us to walk across the house to get it for him; the dog is trained to pick things up for him. They are also trained to open doors, turn on and off lights, retrieve medications, take off shoes and socks, etc. Being wheelchair bound, Daniel is limited to some things he can do. When he cant participate he gets depressed. These dogs are great for companionship, especially for someone like Daniel who LOVES animals. This dog would be life changing for Daniel.
