What is the ServicePack?

The ServicePack is going to be a multi-game arcade station hosted in the new Chaz's Corner at Realms Arcade.

It will be equal parts game console and experimental art piece, exclusively housing games and content made by the community.

Video games are a meaningful part of the lives of many people. Friendships and ambitions can be built around their play and creation.

The ServicePack is intended as a small oasis where play, community, and creativity meet in a way very different from the

current standards of video game

development and distribution.

What is Perfect Service?

Perfect Service is a game and software development duo operated by the enigmatic Servitor A and Servitor B. Their aim is to explore the edges of what app and game development means by using the power of modern game engines to craft boutique experiences; often in the form of physical art installations and interfaces.

Most recently they have begun collaborating with Boise's own community and gaming institution Realms Arcade where their independently produced music player and media center the Life.Player will soon be in active operation in Chaz's Corner.

Who is this for?

Game development is a costly and incredibly difficult undertaking. Something that many aspire to doing and few are able to truly see through to the end.

The industry itself is in a period of deep uncertainty. Layoffs, excessive crunch hours, and chronic instability are taking a toll and the barrier of entry is higher than ever.

The ServicePack offers a place where creating and releasing a game is simplified, achievable, and provides a real world audience at the ready.

We want this to become a collaborative piece where anyone with experience or ambition in any related part of game development can have an opportunity to participate. 3D & 2D art, sound and music, design, and development. The ServicePack provides opportunity while reducing costs and obstacles.

How is it easier?

Perfect Service is currently working to develop a foundation on which ServicePack games can be built. Allowing a point of access for interested creators.

ServicePack games will also benefit from reduced variables like accounting for multiple display sizes, differences in computer hardware, etc.

While being in an arcade environment provides access to players outside of highly saturated digital markets and algorithms.

It will also be possible for individuals without a full team to be able to contribute to games made by Perfect Service as featured collaborators. Allowing creators to apply their skills while not having to invest time and resources outside of their expertise.

Community Involvement

The ServicePack is not only intended as a benefit to creators. It is our intention at Perfect Service to use the station to broaden community participation by—

• Collaborating with local groups to sponsor tournaments and meetups.

• Participating in fundraising and non-profit events by creating limited edition merch, in game events, playable characters etc.

• Hosting educational workshops around elements of game design and development.

• Provide industry hopefuls with a place to build work examples for resume's and portfolios.

• Showcasing work by community collaborators, using the station to direct players to their their online accounts and storefronts.

The ServicePack is a significant undertaking, but one that we truly believe in and are fully committed to.

We have most of the major components and the core of the ServicePack software has been developed. But we still need need to cover the purchase of displays, controllers, hardware components, and allocate time and labor for fabrication.

Like so many today, we have been effected by job loss, cost of living rises, and economic uncertainty. But we also believe in creating. In bringing opportunity to the dreams of developers and creators, just as we unwaveringly pursue our own.
