"Men anpil chay pa lou." -Haitian proverb
Many hands make the burden lighter.

Education is a privilege in Haiti and one that I need to give my son. Steevenson is a ten year old boy who lives at the MABE Orphanage, along with many other amazing kids. My mission is to raise money for food, clean water, mattresses, and clothes for them, but my main goal is to send Steevenson to school. I have had the privilege to visit Haiti twice with an organization called Children's Hope and I plan on making many more returns. I fell in love with every single kid at MABE and I want to make sure that they live healthy and happy lives.

Yes, I love all those kids, but right away Steevenson and I shared a special bond. The day I met him was one of the happiest days of my life. He always had a big smile on his face and was always laughing. He wrote me a letter saying how happy he was to see me and how much he loves me.

I take this letter everywhere I go to remind me that this boy still needs me. A year later, I returned to MABE and he came running into my arms and didn't leave my side. I wanted to adopt him more than anything, but sadly, I am only 21 and the law states that I have to be 35. Nonetheless, this does not mean that I will stop loving him any less. I want him to have the best life he could have and putting him into school is a big step forward. However, it is very expensive and I am still paying for my own time at school, but these kids are my main priority. I think about them everyday and I wish they could have the things we have. Yet, these kids have taught me that even with so little, you can still celebrate life and put a smile on your face.
