Sellek Home Flood Damage Relief

Jesse and Jen Sellek suffered significant and severe damage to their property in Mazomanie, Wisconsin during the flooding on August 21, 2018.  Jesse reported getting up in the middle of the night to see the water approaching their house.
32536168_1535566771442990_r.jpegHe woke Jen and they moved his truck one block north to higher ground, then waded back to get important items, including their two dogs.  They loaded the items and both dogs into two kayaks and waded back to the truck.
32536168_1535566677563944_r.jpegJesse said they moved some important items to the first floor from the basement and as they walked up the stairs, the basement windows exploded from the water pressure and the water started to rush into the basement.  32536168_1535566883308313_r.jpeg32536168_1535566891404049_r.jpegThe entire basement was filled to the ceiling and 6 inches of water filled the first floor.
32536168_1535567234653457_r.jpegThe area exceeded the defined floodplain which left them without flood insurance coverage for damages sustained, so they will have to pay out of pocket to make the necessary repairs to their home to make it livable again.

Jesse and Jen are both local first responders who have given so much to the communities they serve.  And now they need our help.  Thank you for taking time to read their story and for any help that you can give!
