Seeds2Sunflowers NMS Campaign

My name is Kimberly Deloreto and I am a certified yoga instructor for children and adults as well as an educational consultant. I’m here to speak to you today about a dream goal and a calling that needs your help to become true. It is always been a passion of mine to help children and families as well as the desire to travel to reach those in need. This past year I begin to research ways in which I would be able to serve and begin my journey. In my research I was led to the Cornerstone Project website where I read about incredible Organization that supports the fundraising for a remarkable school in Kenya called the Namable Magnet school. The Cornerstone Project is a volunteer run organization that works solely to provide the school with what it needs in order to best serve the children. Knowing that this would undoubtedly be the organization I was destined to serve, I reached out to the coordinator and principal to discuss how I can be involved. The day I met these beautiful women heard their stories and saw the faces of the children’s pictures, I knew my life had changed forever.

The Namable magnet school is located in western Kenya that was opened in 2009 with a total of 30 preschool students. Today the school goes up to eighth grade with over 350 students enrolled. The school was designed to educate and nurture the poorest of the poor in one of the most impoverished areas of northwestern Kenya. 1 in 3 students who attend the school are orphans from the AIDS epidemic and have been selected on a needs basis to learn alongside paying students. This school truly was designed from the hearts and minds of those who truly want to make the world a better place and I am so blessed and honored to be able to help this organization in anyway.

Today my goal is to raise awareness of this remarkable organization and community and ask for your help in bettering the lives of the children and families who attend this school. A contribution of any size would be so truly appreciated in the form of funds, supplies, awareness orprayers. It is my hope to raise enough money to support the education of at least one child’s tuition of $1200 as well as the cost of additional supplies the school may need. It is also my dream to travel to visit the school within the next two years in order to provide students and teachers with the opportunity to practice yoga, which has not only changed my life, but saved my life.

I truly would like to thank you for your time and I hope that I may have opened your eyes and your heart to the possibility of helping these remarkable children, and their community. I will be raising and collecting money online as well as accepting donations in all of my classes. In the coming months there will also be additional fundraisers and I will be selling small sunflower seed packets that will be yours to keep symbolizing the seeds that your generosity are planting. For more information visit the The Cornerstone Project website or my personal website Seeds2sunflowersYoga for more information. May the joy of compassion shine with you always! Thank you for your time!
