Help Us Find a Safe Home After 13 Years
Hello, my name is Louise, and I’m reaching out for help during one of the most difficult times my family has faced.
My 74-year-old mum, my dog, and I are currently facing a Section 21 “no-fault” eviction from the home we’ve lived in for the past 13 years. This house has been our stability and our safety for over a decade, so being asked to leave through no fault of our own has been incredibly frightening.
My mum lives with emphysema, which means even short walks can leave her struggling to breathe. Because of this, it’s really important that wherever we move is suitable and accessible for her needs. Unfortunately, rental costs in our immediate area have risen so much that we’ll likely need to search further afield to find somewhere we can afford.
To make matters worse, our car has just broken down and needs expensive repairs. Right now, it’s our only way to travel to view potential homes. With my mum unable to walk long distances and public transport being difficult for her health, having a working car is essential for us to attend viewings and secure somewhere safe to live.
After years of covering everyday living costs, we sadly don’t have savings to cover the upfront costs of moving. As many renters know, moving requires a deposit, the first month’s rent, and often additional fees, which can quickly add up to thousands of pounds.
We’re asking for help to cover:
- Repairing our car so we can travel to view properties
- A rental deposit and upfront rent for a new home
- Basic moving costs
Every contribution, no matter the size, would bring us closer to finding a secure place where my mum can feel safe and breathe a little easier.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any kindness you can offer. It truly means more than words can say.
