Hi Everyone, my name is Felicia Beckford and I live in Atlanta, GA. I am campaigning on behalf of my sister, Earlene Johnson-Searight and her family. Anything that you can do to help is appreciated. EVERY cent raised will go towards restoring their lives after the Louisiana flooding. Please read my sister's comments below.
Earlene's Story: My family had just celebrated one year in our home when we unexpectedly lost everything we own in the recent floods in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Not only is our home severely water damaged, but mold is starting to grow now that the water has receded.
There was no time to react, we had to immediately leave with just the clothes on our backs. We lost our cars, clothing, shoes, food items, and all toiletries to the flood waters. Because our home was not classified as a "flood zone", we did not have flood insurance. We are now faced with trying to rebuild our homes and lives from nothing.
We had to separate our family to make sure that everyone had a dry place to sleep while we figure out our next steps. Your donations will be used immediately to help bring our family back together, secure safe shelter, replace lost clothing and shoes, and work on getting reliable transportation. We will be forever grateful to you for your thoughts, prayers, and any contribution you make. No amount is too small.
Thank you so much!
