Early April 7th, on his way home from a game night with friends, Professor Sean Kennedy was in a head on collision with a truck that caused extensive injuries and totaled his car. 


He was careflighted to the nearest hospital, where it was confirmed that he had broken both arms, both legs, and had a skull fracture in the occipital region. He was rushed into emergency surgery to stop internal bleeding caused by tears in his bladder and stomach.

Doctors are cautiously optimistic that he can make a full recovery, but it will be a long, painful, and costly journey.  Sean does not have any medical insurance, so any donations are greatly needed and appreciated!  


A photo taken a few hours before the accident of Sean and his bear friend Simon.  Simon was in the accident as well, but "walked away" without a scratch.  Originally responders called for two helicopters, we assume because they saw Simon's  silhouette in the back seat ^^


He's a bit of a smug bastard, but we love him anyway ;-)

One of the first things Sean said when he regained consciousness was, "How's Simon?" For those of you who don't personally know Sean, that's the kind of selfless and wonderful person he is; more worried about a stuffed bear than himself.


Both legs were pinned during the first emergency surgery to keep them in place until Sean was strong enough to endure a second surgery to correct the breaks with metal rods.


Simon isn't allowed in Sean's ICU room, so here he is chilling in the waiting room, waiting for his buddy to get better :)


Being very personable for a bear, he quickly made new friends!
