This page is being presented by the siblings of Sean and Torrie Green.
On December 26th the day after Christmas, a series of tornadoes hit the Dallas metroplex with unprecedented force. Rowlett was one of the
hardest hit areas and many of the residents have been displaced including Sean, Torrie and their daughter Taylor. We are beyond thankful for God encamping His angels around them and sparing their lives. Sean, Torrie and Taylor were home as the tornado made its
devastating path through their neighborhood. Huddled in prayer, they took shelter on the bathroom floor texting family members updates as they could. Thirty (30) seconds seemed like an eternity. I remember so vividly. Torrie and I were texting about the sirens going off in both of our cities at 6:55p.m. At 6:56p.m. I asked did they have an emergency plan and at 6:59p.m., she text me this message, "House is destroyed".
Immediately following, she text, "We're ok". At 7:02p.m. "My car is gone". At 7:03p.m. "Everything is horrible" and by 7:06p.m. Torrie says, "The entire neighborhood is destroyed".
Words cannot explain how thankful and truly blessed we are that Sean, Torrie, Taylor and even
the beloved family dogs Roscoe (Boxer) and Kanari (Yorkie) escaped unharmed. Even after losing their home and majority of their possessions, Sean was in the rubble with the community and first responders digging people out. He is a selfless giver and literally gave the shoes off his feet to the mother of a neighboring family. Both Sean and Torrie have been active staples in the community from the chamber of commerce to the PTA, various associations with Steadham elementary, Shrade middle, Rowlett High and many more organizations. Their daughter Taylor, a senior at Rowlett High is an exemplary student with plans of going to college to pursue a degree in nursing.
Now they need our help in starting over. The picture shows the roof torn away and the back of their home in a heap, leaving the contents destroyed. What was not destroyed by the power of the tornado has been
damaged by the heavy lingering rains. If you can only imagine what starting over would mean for your family, you can begin to imagine how instrumental your contribution, large and small, will be in helping
Sean, Torrie and Taylor start over again. Your gift will help get their family in a permanent residence, complete with the necessities required for a family to restart their lives. This gift is greatly appreciated more than you will ever know. Thanks so much for the
kindness and generosity extended to Sean, Torrie and Taylor during this time. May God bless you and your family.
Graciously and Gratefully,
Patrice James and Dominique Butler
