Shortly after noon on Monday December 28th my best friend got a call that no one wants to hear- "your husband has been involved in a motor vehicle accident". I have known both Lindsay and Thomas Scriven for as long as I can remember (even before they knew each other). Today they have two beautiful children together ages 6 (daughter) and 4 (son). This motor vehicle accident that turned their families world upside down came through as "minor injuries". Here is the list of injuries Thomas sustained because of a careless driver not stopping for a red light.
He has a broken sternum, mild heart swelling and his hip socket/pelvic bone is fractured in four different spots. His recovery time is three months (maybe longer depending on how quickly his body heals) with no pressure or walking whatsoever.
Not to mention the replay of that accident in his mind and the overall trauma both physically and mentally. Thomas will need to learn how to walk again after his surgery and what may be multiple surgeries to follow.
Thomas and Lindsay work hard to support their children and this fund has been created to help them with any additional bills that may come along. With extensive physical therapy, Lindsay will devote the next few months assisting her husband back to health. This will also allow them to focus on each other and maintaining their strength for their children. Every little bit helps.
