This page has been set up for Dusty Schommer and his family to assist with medical bills as well as to help with day-to-day expenses as he begins his rehabilitation and healing.
On Friday, June 26th, Dusty was involved in an UTV accident which left him with serious injuries. The following morning he went in for surgery at Regions Hospital in St. Paul to repair three broken fingers. His right leg was seriously injured as well and had to have immediate debridement to help the infected tissue. On top of all these injuries, Dusty was recently diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic. The struggles of managing this disease as well as the injuries from the accident have been a challenge to say the least. They have been doctoring in St. Paul with the same surgeon from Regions and also an orthopedic surgeon through Gillette Specialty Clinic of St. Paul.
His condition (THANK YOU GOD), has finally started to improve, but still has a very long road to recovery ahead of him with physical therapy for both injuries and re-adjusting to his life as a diabetic.
So many of you have reached out wondering what you can do to help. This page was created to provide you with an easy way to do so!
Dusty is a beloved volunteer coach in the Prescott area and he and his wife Anne volunteer their time to many different organizations in their hometown. They are both big believers in supporting and giving to others in need and I hope we can pay it forward and help them now when they need it most. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.
We will update you on Dusty’s condition as we have new information.
Thank you, and God Bless!
