ScholarCHIPS is a 501c3 nonprofit organization (46-3127898) with the mission to provide college scholarships, mentoring, mental health supports and a support network to college-bound young adults with incarcerated parents, inspiring them to complete their college education. Since 2012, the organization has supported over 120 students and so far 54 have graduated from college.
According to the Annie E. Casey Foundation, nearly 5 million children in the United States have had an incarcerated parent at some point in their lives. Children of incarcerated parents are often a forgotten population. ScholarCHIPS surrounds these young people with a plethora of supports such as brand new laptops, scholarships and book awards, emergency funding and mentoring, and also programming such as financial literacy workforce readiness, and professional development workshops and webinars (resume building, dressing for success, etc.) and internship matching and stipends in order to help them be successful in college and into career.
ScholarCHIPS has deeply felt the impact of the current political and economic climate, and so we really need your help this holiday and giving season! Please consider giving a donation of any amount to ensure that this necessary work can continue. To learn more please visit our website at www.scholarchipsfund.org.
