*Note: Please read the most recent update posted 1/1/2023 to find out more about the ongoing needs for the Schallert family*
Hello all,
If you are reading this you likely have a big soft spot in your heart for Steve and the Schallert family, as we do. We humbly ask that you’d read about Steve’s recent health journey and consider financial support to get the help he needs. We want to lift him and this family of 7 up in this time and help them carry their burdens. Please pray and also consider giving to their need.
Steve writes:
“I have been admitted to a mental health hospital for care concerning a series severe panic and anxiety attacks. The first of which was my fainting spell a month ago.
In the past year I have lost nearly a quarter of my body weight because of psychosomatic stomach symptoms which has left my stomach covered in scar tissue.
As a result of major changes and life stresses I am currently in radical burnout mode and working with a group of specialist / psychologists in hospital to; firstly get my nervous system stable, and secondly; dial in medications my body will respond to positively so we can begin what will be a long mental healing process.
I’m expecting to be in hospital at least a few weeks as we are assessing progress on a weekly basis under observation of my personal psychologist.
Between my recent procedures, psychiatric care, therapist bills and now most notably hospital care we really need to raise an additional $15,000 to cover expenses.
It’s rather overwhelming and scary, but we are also moved deeply by the outpouring of love and support from our local and global community.”
As you can imagine, this mental break Steve has experienced has caused major stress on Diane and the kids. Any help to ease their financial burden would be hugely beneficial.
Thanks for considering giving to this need to support Steve, Diane, and the children.
With gratitude,
