Who is Saving Strayz?
In the heart of Wisconsin, our rescue, Saving Strayz Animal Rescue, embarked on a mission to save cats who had been let down by humans. Every corner of our state revealed heartrending tales of feral cats rejected and cast aside. We couldn't stand by and let their fate be sealed by a misguided perception of being untamed.
These cats bear the scars of their turbulent pasts. Often misunderstood, they face tremendous challenges to their physical and emotional well-being. Some suffer from injuries inflicted by the unforgiving streets—broken bones, malnourishment, and deep wounds that have left them scarred. Others battle debilitating illnesses, clinging to life amidst the harsh elements. But we refuse to label them feral; rather, they are our underdogs—diamonds in the rough.
That’s why, with unwavering dedication, we transformed a barn and farm into a sanctuary for these resilient souls, with the hopes that one day, we can safely house at least 100 cats in need. As the year 2023 drew to a close, we celebrated the completion of two remodeled rooms within the barn. These safe havens provided comfort to more than a dozen cats, offering them respite from the relentless cold and uncertainty. At the start of 2024, we embarked on another building project: a patio for the kittens to receive much-needed sunlight even amidst the worst weather.
With this large barn remodel, we can take in kitties of all ages and sizes by providing a maternity ward, a specialty ward for kitties with disabilities, the elderly, and those who prefer a calmer, quieter home. Our barn remodel will include but not be limited to cat trees, cat castles, cat climbing walls, and cat bridges, and will utilize above-ground space and ground space. It will, of course, provide the basic essentials such as food, treats, water, litter, and shelter. But we can’t make this happen without your help.
Please consider joining us in our compassionate endeavor. Your generous donation can make a substantial impact by covering the cost of building our CATio for the kittens in our care. Please also consider purchasing items from our cats’ wish list of much-needed supplies. No matter how small, every contribution brings us closer to giving all Wisconsin cats the love and peace they deserve. Thank you for your kindness and support!"
Thank you for following, sharing, donating and being on this journey with us as we try and save as many diamonds in the rough as we can!
