Everything started on Friday, when our beloved French Bulldog Yoda (5 years old) suddenly stopped eating and drinking.
By Saturday, he became weaker, started trembling, breathing heavily, and refused to walk up the stairs. I began giving him water with a syringe, hoping he’d recover, but he only got worse.
Today we rushed him to the AniCura Haaglanden Emergency Veterinary Clinic in The Hague, where the vets confirmed signs of a serious intervertebral disc herniation (IVDD) — a spinal injury that can lead to paralysis if not treated quickly.
Yoda has been admitted to the hospital tonight for monitoring and intensive treatment, and tomorrow a neurology specialist will examine him to decide if surgery is needed.
There is still hope — he can still feel pain in his back legs, which means there’s a chance for recovery if treated in time.
The estimated surgery and recovery cost is around €8000, plus €1400 already due for the emergency visit and overnight hospitalization.
We love Yoda deeply — he’s part of our family, full of love and joy, and it breaks our hearts to see him suffering like this.
Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly to his medical bills and surgery at AniCura Haaglanden.
We’ll share updates and invoices here so everyone can see his progress and how the funds are used.
Please help us give Yoda the chance to walk again and come home healthy. ❤️
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
