Support for My Seizure Journey and Our Home
Donation protected

I'm Viccen Fox, a genderqueer femme and a devoted parent in a 12-year partnership. I love raising my chickens, teaching my son about mushrooms and foraging, and making things like candles and cooking.

Life took an unexpected turn when I experienced my first absence seizure in December 2021. My mother's history of seizures, including her tragic passing when I was 7, left me unaware of my own risk.
These seizures began slowly, occurring about once a week, and escalated to multiple daily episodes. The situation worsened when I was neglected for 9 hours during a hospital visit. I lost my job due to my medical condition and was placed on forced leave.
In July 2022, I achieved the dream of buying a home, only to lose my position shortly after. I encountered unhelpful medical care and faced a new challenge when a fall in October 2022 led to severe injuries and a resurgence of seizures. I balanced work and PT as best I could, until I could no longer handle the responsibilities at my job.
I've been unable to work since July, and the impact on my life has been profound. My husband has taken on caretaker duties, and we're homeschooling our son. I'm urgently seeking $3,000 by February 1st to cover medical bills, keep our home, and ensure we can get to appointments safely as our vehicle has become unreliable.
Your support can make a life-changing difference for my family. I'm committed to personally sending thank-you notes to each donor, so you'll know how your generosity is helping us.
