Help Sherry Beat Cancer!

Dear friends and family, we have an update on Sherry’s condition. After her surgery went successfully on April 22nd things seemed to be improving. However, on Tuesday, May 16th Sherry was transferred to the Emergency Room at Mission Hospital and was placed on full life support. The doctors informed us that she had contracted a life-threatening blood infection called Sepsis; which could cause kidney and/or heart failure leaving her with a 20% chance to live.

She was placed on a breathing machine and during the week slowly became less reliant upon it. By Thursday May 19th, Sherry Bomb like the true fighter she is, passed all 5 of her breathing tests. This allowed the doctors to take her off the machine and she was finally able to breathe on her own. She continues to be in a weakened condition with constant antibiotics being delivered to combat the Sepsis.

On Tuesday May 24th, the doctors informed us once again that her lungs were not functioning properly enough to operate on their own; placing extra strain on her heart. She has been placed back on the breathing machine and could go into cardiac arrest at any point in time due to the weakness of her heart. Additionally, the doctors informed us that the cancer has now spread throughout the rest of her body except for her brain. At this point, we have been told that there is nothing more that we can actively do.

Sherry has remained a light and an inspiration throughout all of this. She has fought so hard and we could not be more proud of her. We are beginning to prepare to say goodbye to our sweet Sherry and enjoying every moment that we can spending as much time as possible with her.

Right now, we are asking for any support you can offer in the way of contributing to her final costs. Sherry (and all of us) wanted us to thank you all once again for your support during this difficult time. You’ve offered her hope, prayers, and love and it has all been felt, appreciated, and made such a difference to the whole family. Thank you all.

Sherry Wilson, a family member of our own Bobbi Bernard, is in the middle of an aggressive uphill battle with cancer and has been denied the insurance needed to cover her last hope; a life-saving surgery and chemo bath.

At Network Capital, we support and encourage our employees during times of extreme trial. Read below for her incredible back-story and help support our #NetCapGivesBack cause!
Recently, in January of 2016, the doctors told Sherry that in order to win this battle, her best option would be to remove a baseball-sized tumor from her pelvis, followed by a chemo bath. This life-saving procedure - that only 3 doctors in the US are able to perform - was scheduled and Sherry began preparing herself for the intense process. In order to prepare for it, she needed to do even more intense chemotherapy sessions than she was used to, causing extreme weakness, fatigue, complete hair loss, and stress to her system.

Her procedure was set to be completed in the beginning of March, however, only 5 days before her appointment, Sherry received a letter in the mail from the insurance company denying not only the surgery to remove the tumor, but the chemo bath as well, with no explanation other than they simply do not cover it. Alarmed by the news, Sherry tried to reach out to her doctors - who then began ignoring her phone calls; and a sense of hopelessness set in for Sherry and her family.

The doctors have already informed her that this procedure is the only hope she has at recovery, so now, a desperate race against the clock has begun to save Sherry's life. Since insurance will cover none of the costs, we are trying to raise enough to pay for the one procedure that will give her a fighting chance at winning her battle with this agressive and fast-spreading disease.

Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated and every little bit counts. We are hoping to raise this money as soon as possible, as every day that passes gives the cancer more room to spread and deteriorate her body.

For a more detailed account of Sherry's history in fighting this disease, her more complete story is listed below:

Our Sherry was diagnosed with colon cancer in early 2014. Since then she has been a strong inspiration to all of us, staying positive with countless chemotherapy treatments, medications, and procedures. Sherry's cancer spread to her liver and in January 2015 Doctors removed 70% of Sherry's liver. Despite all of the pain and struggles Sherry faced, like the "Sherry Bomb" that she is, she pulled through with her spirits high. This past April, the Doctors removed the cancer in her Colon, and Sherry is doing remarkably well. We believe in our Sherry, and ask all of you for your prayers and support as she continues her fight. 100% of donated funds will go towards medical expenses for Sherry's fight against cancer.

Hello friends, just an update on our beautiful courageous Sherry. Wednesday Oct.21, 2015 she had an emergency hysterectomy to remove the cantaloupe size mass from her ovary. The mass had bled throughout her stomach was causing her severe pain. Doctors did not touch the lesion on her liver because there was too much bleeding. Now it is time for her to begin recovery and undergo extensive chemotherapy. Through all of this she is amazing, positive, and a source of inspiration; as usual. Our prayers are always with her. Thank you all for your love and support and any donations are appreciated. We will keep you posted on her journey throughout her recovery.
