Help Save Maddie's Leg

3572410_1475687[phone redacted]_funddescription.I'm starting this campaign for my daughter, Madison. She has had one medical struggle after another since day one. She was born with Spina Bifida. After her first spine surgery, she developed Hydrocephallus. She has had surgeries related to Arnold Chiari Malformation, Extreme Scoliosis, brain shunts. If that's not enough, she also has an extreme allergy to latex and rubber. She has had 28 surgeries thus far and is getting ready for number 29. She broke her hip socket and has constant chronic hip dysplasia. As you might imagine, it is quite painful for her hip to constantly come in and out socket on its own. She has tried many trigger point injections in her hip to help with the pain. Unfortunately, the pain control is not long lasting or guaranteed. She has also tried many different pain medications and nothing completely takes the pain away. Having had 28 surgeries and all the pokes and sticks that go along with that, she has quite a pain threshold. Seeing her writhing in pain daily is heart breaking to both her mother and me. She is getting to the point now, where she'll have to have a hip resection surgery just to hopefully lessen the constant pain that she is in. This will cause her to have a dead legthat she would never be able to use or even bare weight on again. Along with this invasive surgery is a long recovery time of 6 weeks at the hospital. The hospital with the best surgeon is over 100 miles away. Along with the costly driving and lodging for 4 comes a hefty expenses. If the surgery doesn't solve all of her pain issues we may also need to look into travelling further away, such as Europe for alternatives methods such as stem cells and natural solutions. If Europe becomes a reality, we would have to travel by boat rather than airplane as her shunts can't handle the pressure and high altitudes of flight. The treatment in Europe is $70,000 by itself without traveling expenses. Madison is also homeschooled because she is in too much pain to transfer from class to class in addition to her latex allergy. Anything you can do for our little princess is great and very much appreciated. Thank you so much for reading about our campaign.
