My name is Macauley. If you’ve ever met me through gymnastics, acro, breakdancing, coaching or teaching, you’ll know that movement has always been my life.
For years I’ve poured everything into helping children and young people build confidence, master new skills, and believe in themselves. There’s nothing better than watching a child land a move they’ve worked on for months, conquer their fear, or smile with pride for the first time. That’s why I do this.
What most people don’t see is that I’ve been fighting serious knee problems for over 15 years.
At just 31 I’ve already had three knee operations and two full patella tendon ruptures. My most recent rupture happened in March, and I’m now waiting for a fourth operation with another long recovery ahead.
The hardest part isn’t even the pain.
It’s being unable to do what I love.
Every time I’m sidelined it affects my ability to work and to support all of the children and students I teach each week. I can’t demonstrate skills, I can’t coach safely, and the income I rely on disappears while I recover.
That’s why I’ve set up this GoFundMe.
We’ve already raised £1,475 and we’re pushing towards our first milestone of £3,500. The full £15,000 goal will help me access specialist help from the top knee specialists in London who regularly deal with complicated knee issues like mine.
This includes consultations, potential procedures, and the right rehabilitation support so I can recover properly and get back to coaching the kids who rely on me.
Every single donation — no matter how small — gets me closer to standing in front of my students again, doing what I’m meant to do.
If you’ve ever trained with me, been coached by me, or simply believe in supporting someone who’s spent his life lifting others up, please consider donating and sharing this page.
Together we can turn this setback into a comeback.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
