Atlas came to us from Queens Animal Care & Control, where he was found as a stray. He hasn’t been with us long, but he quickly stole our hearts. Just yesterday, we noticed something was wrong — our normally happy, hungry pup had no appetite and began vomiting.
We rushed him to the emergency vet, where they performed bloodwork and x-rays. Sadly, Atlas was diagnosed with intussusception — a life-threatening condition in which one part of the intestine slides into another, causing a severe and painful blockage.
To put it simply, it’s like when part of a collapsible straw folds into itself, cutting off anything from passing through.
Atlas is only six months old. He has his whole life ahead of him, and we’re committed to giving him that chance. But his surgery and care are estimated to cost $6,000 — and as a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue running solely on donations, we don’t have that kind of funding on hand for emergencies like this.
We’ve told our vet to move forward with treatment — because we can’t let Atlas die — but we desperately need your help to cover his medical expenses.
Please, if you’re able, donate and share Atlas’s story. Every dollar counts. Together, we can give this beautiful boy the chance to live the full, happy life he deserves.
Thank you for always standing by our animals. We’ll continue to keep you updated on Atlas’s progress. ❤️
