Finding FURever homes

Tax deductible
At a young age, I witnessed my very first dog, Wiley, shot down by a police officer who stood less than two feet away from me. I adopted Wiley from the local shelter and he became my bestest friend for three years. One evening, I was coming home from school and Wiley ran out of the front door. I knew that if I chase him down he would keep running, so I waited for him to come home as he normally would. However, a neighbor called the cop because Wiley was barking at the other dogs. A young officer arrived at my front door as my dog was approaching me. As I was signalling him to come inside, Wiley got up on his legs to sniff the officer, who then shoved him back down. Wiley started barking aggressively and the officer panicked to the point where he shot my dog down. I will never forget that night. Most people would probably never want to have another pet again, but not me. It did take me awhile to adopt a new dog but I now have two healthy dogs, Bruce and Merry, that I've rescued. I vowed to not let that traumatic experience keeps me from adopting, fostering, helping and loving these helpless animals. That's why, today I'm doing this fundraise for the no-kill organization, Houston Pets Alive, that I volunteered for during Hurricane Harvey. They sheltered, fostered and rescued over 300 pets that were affected by the flood. Today, many of those animals are still looking for their FURever home. So please kindly donate!
