A positive update! 01/26/2026

This week's donations bought materials for Hamooda to repair the tent after it collapsed. He's extremely grateful to everyone who helped, hopes this streak will continue. They are still in dire need for adequate food to eat, and especially for his wife and their daughter.

Cold rainy winters and extreme wind in Gzza are life threatening to Hamooda's 7-month-old daughter. Their tent collapsed, and urgently needs repair. They also face a shortage of food & medicine.

The price of necessities is higher than ever, and they desperately need water, baby formula, and winter clothing for their 5-month-old daughter. They continue to face extreme weight loss and exhaustion while in Rafah.

My name is Alyssa, and run this campaign for Mohammed (Hamooda) Al-Shawaf and his family, his wife and his small daughter. This is their story:

Hamooda is a young man who got married during the early months of the gcide in Gaza, his house was destroyed shortly after, and the newlyweds were separated from the rest of their family and displaced to Rafah.

800+ days of war later, the couple still live in a tent in a crowded and dangerous area; they share one phone that they can barely charge or make calls on; they have no way of getting money to buy food, firewood or other supplies. Hamooda worries a lot about his wife, who is pregnant, and needs to take vitamins and have proper nutrition to be well.

The situation is extremely difficult due to the constant bombing, the scarcity of aid, and the fact that prices are incredibly high right now. Hamooda's dream is save enough money to evacuate once the borders reopen. Saving for this is only possible with additional funds, but the high prices of food and gas leave them with nothing

They have all struggled to get food and basic necessities, in addition to dealing with multiple health complications.
