Help Justin Through His Cancer Treatment

Last December, Justin Atwood, aka Jarico, aka Our Fearless Bleeder, had a check-up where they did a blood panel. It revealed that his sodium levels were extremely low. After many tests and through the sheer will of Doctor Levy at San Francisco General Hospital, we were able to find the source of the problem.

We found it early and have been told it should be curable.

Jarico has Stage 1A adenocarcinoma in the right lung. He will be doing either a combination of what they call external radiation and chemotherapy or single beam radiation, which is more targeted, and it is scheduled to begin late October at UCSF.

We are trying to raise money so he can concentrate on getting well without having to worry about work or bills. We have been told it will be about 5 to 7 weeks. In all likelihood I will also be needed at home to help nurse him to health should he also undergo chemotherapy.

We guesstimated the rudimentary amount we would need to cover expenses for a month of treatment and a month of economic recovery and have figured it to be around $7000.

We are not the kind of people who generally ask for help, and this is a humbling journey. Please give only if you can. Any amount is an extraordinary gift which will put us closer to our goal and allow Jarico to focus on kicking Cancer's ass.
