The Krishna Balarama Mandir of Queens, NYC was established under the auspicious guidance of His Grace Ravindra Svarupa Prabhu who is a direct disciple of Srila Prabhupada. The Deities of Krishna and Balarama were installed in 2006 and the mandir has since been a spiritual home for hundreds of thousands of people.
Our beloved temple is in danger of losing its home!!
Our building at 111-14 101st Avenue in Queens, NYC where these Deities are worshipped, has gone into foreclosure and there is an urgent need to stop a group of greedy, heartless investors from making the Deities and devotees homeless. This is of great significance because Deities should not be moved once installed.
The Sri Sri Krishna Balarama Mandir has been developing for more than 25 years. If the temple is shut down, many lives will be disrupted, and all of their devotional activities will be cancelled, including their worship, prayers, meditation, bhakti yoga, and our drug and alcohol counseling program.
The temple is also a base for the Food for Life daily distribution of free prasadam that feeds many thousands of impoverished people monthly. To date, more than one million plates of wholesome vegetarian food offered to Krishna have been served out from our distribution center throughout New York City. In addition, since our center was founded, we have also distributed well over 500,000 books explaining the science of self-realization and Krishna consciousness.
We are humbly begging for donations, no matter how small or large.
Our Goal
We are raising $600,000 to:
- Purchase the building at 111-14 101st Ave, securing our temple’s future.
- Cover legal and administrative costs related to the purchase.
- Establish a maintenance fund for ongoing upkeep.
If we succeed and attain our fundraising goal, the investor group of 101 Avenue Corp. will not be able to foreclose on our temple property. Every dollar brings us closer to preserving this mandir for generations to come.
