Revive a 160-Year Legacy — Help Save Two Time-Honored Brands

Bring Back Emerson & Concord — Save 160 Years of Ceiling Fan History
Ceiling fan enthusiasts around the world recognize Emerson for its luxurious, high-performance fans—like the iconic Designer, Pro Series, Crown, and the ultra-reliable Premium. But Emerson wasn’t alone in shaping the golden age of ceiling fans.
Concord Ceiling Fans, founded in 1983 in Corona, California, earned its reputation as a trusted and innovative brand in the lighting and ceiling fan space. Known for dependable builder-grade and decorative fans, Concord filled the shelves of lighting showrooms and contractor supply chains for decades. Their fans offered solid performance, affordability, and timeless design, making them a staple across homes, offices, and apartments throughout the U.S.
The Emerson Legacy — St. Louis to the World
Founded in 1890, Emerson Electric Co. was one of the first American companies to manufacture ceiling fans. For more than 130 years, Emerson represented durability, silent performance, and refined engineering. Its fans were proudly made in St. Louis, Missouri, and became fixtures in homes, schools, churches, and businesses nationwide. Emerson fans weren't just appliances—they were heirlooms.
A Shared Fate: The Fall Begins
In May 2019, Emerson sold its ceiling fan division to Luminance Brands, a California-based lighting company. Manufacturing shifted to China, and Emerson's designs were rebranded under Kathy Ireland Home.
Just a few years earlier, Luminance had also acquired Concord Fans, folding both historic names under its corporate structure.
Then, in 2022, everything came crashing down. Luminance Brands filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, suspending operations and leaving both Emerson and Concord in limbo. Since then, remaining inventory has been sold off at liquidation prices on Amazon, eBay, and clearance shelves. Once that stock is gone, both brands—and their designs—could vanish forever.
What’s at Stake
If no one steps in to acquire the tooling, engineering files, and brand rights to Emerson and Concord, these beloved fan lines will be absorbed into bankruptcy court—possibly to be discarded, dismantled, or lost forever.
That means:
The Emerson and Concord fan brands could disappear permanently

Classic designs may never be manufactured again

Tooling and molds may be scrapped or sold piecemeal

A combined 160 years of American ceiling fan history could end as nothing more than seized assets gathering dust in a warehouse

Our Mission
We are raising funds to purchase the tooling, design documents, and reproduction rights to the Emerson and Concord ceiling fan lineups before they are lost for good.
Our goals:
Preserve and faithfully reproduce iconic models from both brands

Bring production back to the U.S., starting with small-batch runs

Offer classic Emerson and Concord fans to collectors, homeowners, and designers once more

Revive a legacy of quiet engineering, craftsmanship, and enduring design

Why This Matters
This is not just about saving two names—it’s about reviving a tradition. A tradition of well-built, repairable, quiet, and beautiful fans. It’s about showing that the era of disposable appliances can end. That we still care about quality, longevity, and engineering excellence.
Let’s bring Emerson home to St. Louis, and give Concord a second wind.
Let’s rescue 160 years of ceiling fan history from being lost in corporate limbo.
Let’s prove that craftsmanship still matters—and that these fans, like the homes they cool, deserve to last.
