Finns URGENT Reconstruction Surgeries

Donation protected
I am desperately fundraising for my dog Finn’s surgeries. He is becoming severely disabled, and despite my best efforts to help him, Finn’s legs, hips, and knees are failing him at an alarming rate. A board of Vet Specialists determined Finn has Stage 4 Bilateral Grade patella luxation, Osteoarthritis & severe Cranial Cruciate Ligament displacements, & needs a double reconstruction surgery in both hind legs. This is a 5,500 dollar surgery. His kneecaps have completely shifted under the pressure of his legs—(which have not grown straight due to the CCL fractures) & are creating another potentially dangerous risk of tearing his tissue & muscles due to their improper placement . Finn needs two operations, one for each leg, if he is to keep his mobility. The route of amputation would be an ultimate last resort that we are trying to avoid as the sooner we get the surgeries done, the more successful his chance is. As hard as I have tried to financially fund us; the two surgeries are not only out of any possible range, but no pet insurance covers pre existing conditions. Without qualifying for care credit or having a payment plan option, I’m in no way able to afford the mounting expenses that are only going to increase as we face financing two major extensive procedures. So far between tests, X-rays, injections and maintaining his health the best that I can, I've put in thousands. If I had the means, Id put in thousands more without blinking a eye. UPDATE 2/26/24: We are one step closer!!! Thanks to everyone’s help we were able to get out CT scan for $3000!! At our surgery consult the doctor has explained that not only time is of the essence, Finn's situation is categorized as critical. As his owner this time clock is terrifying trying so hard to scramble to make this possible for Finn. In every other physical realm he is healthy and happy as a horse, and has no other health issues. Finn still has such a great chance to have the best quality of life I desperately want to still give him. Finn is my goofy, beautiful kindered spirit, who absorbs affection and people. Though he is in constant discomfort, our vet was so surprised to see his level of engagement, urge to play, and that he has such a docile disposition—given the pain he has become used to. He is my true gentle giant. —-I want so desperately to give Finn a chance to be a dog, and to alleviate his daily joint and leg pain. Finn tries to jump, play, and run, however now, even squatting to go to the bathroom or getting up is a task he is struggling to do. As many pet owners would, i’d do anything for Finn, and this support line is anchor of hope that we need to move forward. Any amount that can be spared, no matter how small—-to make this procedure possible for Finn will be deeply and profoundly appreciated. I rescued Finn 3 years ago, and can’t imagine my life without him. Our medical journey has been long but there is a silver lining no matter what; because this is all he has ever known. Thank you for taking the time to read his story, Finn is so special, and I will do whatever it takes to give him the chance he deserves.
