Help Us Save Cinnamons – A Beloved Part of Wheatley for 20 Years
Hello, my name is Shirazul, and for the past 20 years, my family and I have had the honour of running Cinnamons Restaurant in the heart of Wheatley. Serving this village has been our joy and pride – many of you have become like family to us.
Three years ago, everything changed. A complaint was made to the council about the smell of our cooking by a Church Road resident. Until then, we had never received a single complaint – not in two decades of operating alongside other food establishments on the High Street.
To address the issue, we installed a new ventilation system, costing £35,000. Despite this, we were served with an abatement notice from the council and fined an additional £25,000 – we’ve since been told the system we installed is still not enough and must now be replaced.
Thanks to your incredible support, we’ve made it this far. But unfortunately, the situation hasn’t ended. The same complainant has now involved solicitors and is pursuing further legal action that threatens to make our business – and livelihood – unsustainable.
We are now facing closure unless we raise some money for a new ventilation system which will cost Cinnamons in the region on 50,000. We’re asking for your help to raise urgent funds for the new system – and to stand a chance of keeping Cinnamons open for you, our valued community.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to being able to keep our doors open. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page to help us reach others who care about keeping small, local businesses alive.
Thank you for being part of our story. We hope to continue being part of yours.
