Save Bonnie’s Life!!
Hello, my name is Samantha Ferguson and I’m starting this GoFundMe for my sister, Bonnie Beckman in order to help make ends meet while she waits for a liver transplant.
Through no fault of her own, Bonnie has been sick for years- struggling with liver failure, diabetes and silicone poisoning. Not wanting to betray fellow physicians or fearing the liability themselves, doctor after doctor has refused to treat her- either passing her off to another doctor or simply stating that she wouldn’t make it through any type of procedure.
In April, our father, Lynn Ferguson and his fiancé, Ileana McCaigue drove from Atlanta to Nashville to take Bonnie to a liver specialist at Vanderbilt where she was diagnosed with End-Stage liver disease. Now her only chance for survival is a liver transplant.
Throughout her illness, she continued to work- fighting nose bleeds, swollen legs and feet, bleeding from her legs, pain throughout her body, blood sugar spikes of 500+, Oxygen levels in the 80’s, kidney and gallbladder pain, joint pain, hair loss and more- maintaining health insurance benefits and being self sufficient, despite her deteriorating health. At the direction of her physicians, she had to quit working altogether this April, losing her income and soon, her health insurance.
Until she is approved for Medicare, we are all pitching in to keep her employer provided insurance paid for while it is still available. Her roommate, Terry has been gracious enough to cover some of her living expenses such as utilities (Thank you Terry!). And she is selling what she can to help make ends meet.
Anyone who has ever suffered a long term illness can tell you that mental outlook is a big part of your overall well-being. Having her family rally for her has given her much needed hope. And I believe having some financial relief will do wonders.
Bonnie has never been one to ask for help. She’s been on her own since she was 18, has always taken care of herself and was a single mom for a while. She is always quick to help others and now she needs all of the prayers and donations we can send her way.
Thank you for your consideration and God bless you!
