Guatemala Medical Mission

Donation protected
Anthony, Amy, Katie, and Jacqui will be traveling to a remote village in Guatemala called Sarstun for a week-long medical mission trip in April, 2016.

Sarstun is a small aldea (village) located on the Sarstun River, which forms a portion of the border between Belize and Guatemala. There are no roads in or out of Sarstun, making it accessible only by water, like many of the surrounding villages. The nearest town is 1 1/2 hours away by boat. A clinic/hospital was recently opened by Refuge International, thanks to the generosity of many donors and another nonprofit organization, Faith in Practice. A health care provider working full time will be available to help the more than 12,000 Mayans living in the area. Ongoing support is needed to maintain this wonderful facility, as there is little or no source of outside income for the people living there.

Amy and Jacqui have gone to San Raymundo, Guatemala twice before and had such a life-changing experience that Anthony and Katie wanted to participate as well. Amy and Jacqui will be administering anesthesia for surgery and Anthony and Katie will be working in the pharmacy and have other important duties as well.

The trip costs about $2,000/person and will cover the fee for the trip plus airfare. Please consider donating to our cause!
