Help a Veteran-Owned Family Business Keep Up With Demand and Create Jobs
Hello, my name is Mike “Sarge” Luttrell, and I am the owner of Sarge Irrigation — a veteran-owned irrigation company built on hard work, honesty, and the support of my family and loyal customers.
We are a true family-run business: my sister answers the phones, my dad helps me on service calls, and my mom manages the books. Their support, along with the trust of our customers, has allowed us to grow year after year.
When I started this business, it was just me and a commitment to treat every customer with integrity and respect. Over time, that dedication helped Sarge Irrigation become known for dependable workmanship, fairness, and always putting the customer first. Our customer base continues to grow rapidly — but our ability to serve that demand is limited.
Why We’re Asking for Help
Despite strong growth, I am still the only full-time technician.
Not because the work isn’t there — it absolutely is — but because we currently cannot offer employee benefits. Without benefits, attracting and retaining licensed irrigation technicians is extremely difficult. As a result, we are often forced to book appointments weeks out or even turn down jobs.
During the COVID pandemic, like many small businesses, we fought hard just to survive. To stay afloat, we took out SBA loans that we are still working to repay. These financial obligations make it challenging to invest in the equipment, vehicles, and staffing we need to move forward.
We are seeking $150,000 to expand Sarge Irrigation sustainably, meet the needs of our community, and create local jobs.
How the Funds Will Be Used
• Purchase a mini skid steer trencher
This machine will dramatically increase efficiency, reduce labor costs, and allow us to take on more installation work.
• Buy a second work van, decals, and technician tools
Just one more van running would double our income and significantly reduce wait times for customers.
• Establish employee benefits
This is our biggest barrier to hiring qualified technicians. Benefits will allow us to recruit and retain skilled workers and grow our team.
• Pay down SBA loans from the pandemic
Reducing this debt will create long-term financial stability and allow us to reinvest in growth.
• Improve service quality and expand our community impact
More staff and equipment means faster service, the ability to take on more customers, and an overall better experience for the people we serve.
How Your Support Helps the Community

Strengthen our community by keeping small business alive and local
I have poured everything into this company, and I am proud of the trust we have earned. With your support, we can finally grow beyond a one-man operation and continue serving our community with excellence, reliability, and integrity.
