Sara Strong 4 Life

Chemo for Christmas 2022. Not at the top of anyone's wishlist for Santa, but this will be the 2nd Christmas Sara has had to undergo chemo treatment and cancer surgery recovery during the holidays.

In 2019 Sara was diagnosed with Colon cancer and underwent 12 rounds of chemo. Treatment number 4 of 12 landed on Christmas Eve that year. On April 2, 2020, she rang the Cancer Bell celebrating an end to her Colon Cancer.

In September 2022, she got the news that the cancer was back and had metastasized to her lung. She had a portion of her lung removed in November 2022, and once again, chemo will get started just in time for Christmas 2022.

Cancer and cancer treatment come with their own painful, uncomfortable side effects, and Sara will have to "take a pause," dig deep, and find the strength to power through those days. We can't take away the pain Erik feels watching his wife struggle, and we can't take away the fear Katelyn, 17, and Caleb, 15, have while watching their Mama endure illness.

The pain we can take away from Sara's family is the pain of the financial burden. Sara is a successful personal trainer and small business owner of "Strong for Life." She works daily to empower women. As my Trainer at Franck's Gym, she has a way of bringing out the killer in me. She makes us believe we can lift heavier weights than we ever dreamed possible, and we do! But that mental strength gives her ladies confidence to walk out that gym door and do hard things when life gets heavy.

Whether you donate to Sara as Friend to Friend, Family to Family, or Small Business Owner to Small Business Owner, she needs your help. She has health insurance, but as a one-woman business, she doesn't have the perks of FMLA or Short Term Disability. We want her to focus on RECOVERY, not work, right now. We want Erik to concentrate on giving her, and their teenagers LOVE, not working extra long hours to make ends meet.

Words from Sara, "Whenever life has been hard, I try to find five good things...here are mine for today".....

1.) My Faith in God! Lately, I have felt closer to him, and a lot of the reason is that he has put such amazing people in my life.

2.) My Husband and my Kids are why the chemo is worth going through.

3.) My Family, for all the help they give me. From going to chemo with me to picking up kids to just texting or calling me.

4.) My Friends, they listen to me, especially when I am at my weakest, and they let me cry and be mad.

5.) For all the love and support we have gotten from even people we have never met. It makes my heart so happy!
