Home Adaptation for Combat Wounded
Donation protected

My name is Joshua Hoffman and I am a Retired Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. I was injured on the battlefield of Afghanistan in August of 2011. I was on an operation at the end of my deployment where I found multiple (IED's) improvised explosive devices. As I was trying trying to identify the size of one with my detector, my foot set the bomb off. It blew my left leg off, broke my right knee and femur in half, and I sustained extensive damage to the rest of my body.
I have since recovered to the best of my ability. My wife and I had our first child 8 months ago and bought our first house five months ago. I have a VA grant and non profits that are helping with adapting my new home, but unfortunately it is not enough to cover the amount that is needed to adapt it to my needs. Recently in the past couple of months I have become 100 percent wheelchair bound and require help from my wife for many of my daily activities. I have many more surgeries scheduled and my need for my wheelchair will never change. It would be amazing to get some of my independence back and not have to rely on my wife as much as I currently do. Any size of donation is extremely helpful. Wether it's big or small, it all helps. Thanks everyone and as always
