Jose “Wes” Santamaria was struck by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday morning while bicycling home along Land Park roadway in Sacramento. He had left work after a 12 hour work shift and is a chef by trade. The person that hit Wes seriously injured him and nearly killed him. He suffers from several broken bones, including his spinal cord, collar bone, vertebra, spleen, wrists and ribs. He had to undergo 11 hours of surgery and is currently in ICU fighting for his life with internal bleeding from his lungs and kidneys. His family was told that he would never walk again. Not only is this an unthinkable tragedy that one person could do to another and then leave him to fight for his life alone, but now leaving his entire family helpless without any financial support is devastating.
Wes is a devoted husband of 23 years, a wonderful father of two children, and a grandfather to a beautiful little girl. Wes has always been a hardworking man that puts his family first.
Family, Friends, and New Friends – we ask with sincere hearts that you please help lighten the burden of this tragedy by donating towards the unexpected medical and daily living expenses to assist the family with this undeserving tragedy. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support, love, and prayers.
