Faith + Love > Cancer

This is the Smyrl family - Jim, Sandra, and their 5 sweet daughters - from Jacksonville, FL. In April 2015, Sandra was diagnosed with stage IV liver and colon cancer. She is undergoing intense chemotherapy and radiation treatments, but their insurance requires that they pay the first $10,000 out of pocket. The total cost for the first year of treatment is estimated to be $1 million, and it is yet to be determined how much of that will be covered by insurance. In the midst of this physical crisis, Jim's current job and sole source of family income has had a significant cut in the hours he can work each week, thus a significant cut in pay. To make this challenging season even worse, the house they have been renting for the last 2 years is for sale, and they have to move out by June 30. They are looking for another house to rent, but it will require around $3500 to pay the first month's rent, security deposit, and moving expenses.
