Sam's Little Obstacle
Donation protected
Sam's Little Obstacle fund has been created to support our strong and amazing 6-year-old friend, Sam Heintz, as he battles against atypical HUS (hemalytic uremic syndrome). It is an "ultra-rare" genetic disease that targets the kidneys and can damage other areas of the body.
Our family has had the great privilege of knowing Sam, his amazing rock of a brother Peter, and courageous mom Alicia. As the family fights the daily and weekly battles that Sam goes through, we wanted to be able to support them financially to show how much we value them. In addition to treatment, Sam is facing the difficult possibility of a kidney transplant. Alicia herself has recently battled her own war with breast cancer. Because of this, she has little time off from work, but she has taken time to be with Sam during dialysis and hospital stays. Certainly, we all can imagine how much of a burden this would be financially, as well as physically and emotionally. Alicia would also like the opportunity to be able to connect with other families with atypical HUS and to get to know better this disease at a medical conference.
Any amount you can share is much appreciated and will help the family achieve their goals. Thank you very much for your contribution.
