Aris and Steve Wilde were blessed with a beautiful baby boy Samuel Jacob Wilde born on August 10, 2017. After several devastating losses, they couldn't have been happier to hold their perfect, beautiful baby in their arms. On February 1st, their lives were turned upside down. Baby Sam was airlifted to Children's Hospital of Colorado for difficulty breathing. Upon arrival he was diagnosed with RSV, adenovirus and HMPV with pneumonia. He was immediately intubated and sedated. He received several respitory treatments daily. Things were looking good. Suddenly, one week in to his stay at the hospital, his CO2 levels rose dangerously high and they moved Sam's room closer to the doctors for constant observation. At this time they decided to put in an arterial pic line to receive blood directly from the heart. From this episode Sam aquired acute respiratory distress syndrome.This was a very scary time for Aris and Steve. Baby Sam remained on the ventilator, pic line and was given a paralytic to remain as comfortable as possible. After giving Sam a couple of days of sound rest and constant prayers, things began to look more promising. They began to lower the vent, lower the meds and feel more confident that Sam will recover. A direct quote from Steve: "Now we are beginning to see the finish line and Sam is heading right towards it" Your continued prayers for complete healing are appreciated. As Aris and Steve continue this journey of late nights, conversations with specialists, and creating a medical plan that will eventually lead to their beautiful baby coming home with them, we need to help in anyway we can to make sure that finances for medical bills that are accruing and docked payments for Aris (she is now out of sick and personal days) are the last things on their mind. Aris needs to be with her baby boy and not worry at all about missing work without pay.
