My cat Goose is 8 years old and currently in a life-threatening situation. He has an acute urinary blockage and urgently needs treatment. This morning (Saturday), I noticed that something was wrong. Goose couldn’t go to the bathroom, he withdrew and unlike every other day he didn’t wake me up with his usual morning cuddles. That was completely out of character for him.

Goose is the gentlest and most affectionate cat you could imagine. He is never stressed and starts purring the moment you even look at him. He loves sitting by the window watching birds or finding the most impossible places to sleep.

I went straight to the emergency vet with the suspicion of a urinary blockage and unfortunately that diagnosis was confirmed. The vet visit which has cost around €1,500 so far. If this treatment does not help he will need surgery. So i hope he will get better. 

 For me, Goose is not “just a pet.” He is my only family. I suffer from depression and am currently in training. Goose is the reason I get up every morning. He is always there for me, giving me comfort no matter how hard things get. He will most likely need surgery and I simply cannot afford the upcoming costs on my own. Still, I want to do everything I can to help him. I cannot and do not want to lose him.
