Hi friends and family,
As some of you know, one of my life long goals is to do a mission trip. And this year is the perfect year since one of my new year's resolution is to give back to the community and those who are less fortunate.
This upcoming Spring I will be venturing out to Peru with a few nursing friends. In collaboration with FIMRC (Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children), I will be spending a week in a small town called Huancayo, located in the central highlands of Peru. The health disparities of this small town include limited access to clean water, unsantitary living conditions, and lack of proper nutrition.
I will primarily be working in the hospitals and clinics and will be providing healthcare treatment such as giving vaccinations, providing education on proper nutrition, and assiting with the medical students in surgery. Also, I plan to brush up my Spanish within the next few months so that I am able to teach proper nutrition, basic dental and hand hygience, and health education to the children; many whom are orphans.
Your donation will go towards sustaining the project sites by implementing public health outreach, hiring qualified doctors and nurses, stocking the clinic pharmacies with vital medicines, paying for utilities such as water and electricity, and providing fun acitivites for the children.
I'm asking if could please help fund for my volunteer work as well as help donate to the community. Your charitable donation will mean the world to the community of Huancayo as it will provide the necessary tools for us to help this small town and the children!

(fyi: Aside from the week spent there, I will also be spending another week there to explore some of what Peru has to offer, like Machu Picchu :) and that I will pay separately on my own.)
