Desperate Mom Seeks Stability
Hi, my name is Cassandra.
I am a mother of 3 kids ages 6, 4 and 3.
I am a survivor of a domestic violence relationship of over 7 years.
I left him for good at the end of July 2019.
Since then I had been struggling to pay back owed rent and utility bills as I could only afford a babysitter 3 nights a week to work at my job graveyard shift while the kids were sleeping.
I fled to Houston with intentions of going to a battered women's shelter and get back on my feet as I was presented with a really great job opportunity from a teammate.
Sadly 2 hours into my trip I injured myself very badly when I fell. I broke my leg in multiple places, shattered the ankle and tore my Achilles tendon. It was a freak accident! I had no one to turn to in Houston and shelters could not accommodate me in my condition and I had to come back to Louisiana so i could at least have someone to watch the kids while i had to undergo multiple surgeries to correct my injury.
Not knowing this accident would happen I was not prepared to take on the back rent and utilities while also trying to recover from my injuries. Any help is appreciated as I am now wheelchair bound and unable to return to work for quite some time. I have already started working online making a few dollars here and there, hoping that I can get the help I need to get the debts paid and a headstart for next months rent and utilities so I can focus on healing and working online to start saving money until I can find a job that can accomodate an employee in a wheelchair.
