Be a Force Behind History. Help End the Death Penalty.
My name is Brandi, and I’m needing to raise enough to attend the 33rd Annual Starvin’ for Justice Fast & Vigil in Washington, D.C. — a four-day gathering outside the U.S. Supreme Court to honor lives lost, confront injustice, and call for the end of the death penalty.
This isn’t just a protest. It’s a moral witness — rooted in prayer, fasting, and deep listening.
My Story: From Support to Resistance
I once supported the death penalty. Personal tragedy shaped that view — including the loss of someone who saved my life and encounters with people later sentenced to die.
But in 2024, everything changed.
In March, I watched Dead Man Walking and wept at the execution scene. I later learned lethal injection was modeled after Nazi methods.
In May, I testified before the Louisiana Legislature to oppose gas suffocation as an execution method. My words were ignored.
On March 18, 2025, I stood vigil outside Angola Prison as my state carried out its first execution in 15 years and first ever using gas suffocation. The grief and silence of that night stay with me.
Now I’ve been invited to bring that story to D.C. — to stand with others who’ve been impacted and keep the memory of that night alive through peaceful presence.
