A number of years ago Eden came to the. U S as a military wife from the Philippines. She and her husband had two children both of whom are college graduates. Eden and her husband divorced when the children were small. No one told her to get her citizenship and she did not know she could. Trying to support herself, she fell in with the wrong crowd. She was arrested. pleaded guilty, and served her time of 3 months. This record gave her a felony. Now there is no way she can get her citizenship with a felony on her record.
A little over 5 years ago she married Bill Wright. They consulted a lawyer about getting her record erased. That did not happen, but Eden was able to get her green card without question. With the green card, she was able to get her passport. With these she was able to go back and visit relatives in the Philippines for the first time since coming to the United States. She has made the trip several times without any problems. Most recently to visit her terminal brother
Eden went back to the Philippines in September of this year. While at the airport in the Philippines her wallet was stolen. She reported it to security there. She was able to fly back to the States. Going through immigration, they ran a background check on her. Her felony showed up. They gave her a court date and told her she would probably be deported.
Bill and Eden met with a new lawyer last week. He told them the first lawyer messed her chances of fighting the charges. Her best chance is to ask for asylum. Cost of representation is going to be at least $25,000. It will be expensive as they will have to pay an expert witness on the political culture in the Philippines at present,
The president of the Philippines is basically killing anyone caught who has dealt in drugs. They are imprisoned, tortured, and killed in the process. Eden would be picked up at the airport and taken away. We would never know where they would take her or all the things they would do to her.
She does not deserve this!!!! She made a mistake and served her time which was only several months. She has two children. Her son is working on his Masters degree. Her daughter 3 beutiful grandchildren that Eden help support emotionally and physically
Eden does not deserve deportation and what would happen to her if she is sent back. Eden is a good person with a family who love her. She has a strong marriage with a husband who loves her very much. Bill's family moved to Miss. from Illinois. His sister passed away 1 1/2 years ago leaving 3 children who live with their grandmother. Should something happen to her, Eden and Bill have said they want these children. They love Bill and Eden and are loved by Bill and Eden..
We need 25,000 (including the $10,000 that has been put on credit cars)to cover the cost of the lawyer and to bring the expert from the Phillippines . We would be eternally grateful for any help we can get. Whether you can donate or not, please pray that this lawyer can prevent Eden's deportation. We have all been young and stupid. This deportation and what would be waiting for her is way out-of-line for what she did.
Please pray and donate if you can. We are desperate!!! God bless

Hello friends, my name is Toni i am Edens oldest daughter. My mom moved here from the Philippines 27 years ago and currently resides in Eureka, IL. She moved here in search of a better life, and she found it. She's soft spoken and has a heart of gold. She is a great member of her community. She supports my brother and I ,along with my three children. Although we do not always see eye to eye, I just cant imagine her not being near her small, tight knit family.
Well, my mom got in trouble 15 years ago and plead guilty to a felony. At the time she made the mistake she did not know she would have to pay dearly years later a second time. While she was re-entering the the U.S. after visiting her family and terminal brother she was detained and questioned about the incident 15 years ago. She thought she had already paid her debt to society. Apparently immigration has decided she should now 15 + years later be deported. She is a scheduled for a hearing on Nov 19, 2019 to review her case. She will be scheduled for deportation unless her immigration attorney can argue to keep her here. Attorneys fees are going to be $25,000. She has already emptied her bank account and maxed her credit cards to deposit $10,000 for legal advice. Its just not enough. I'm ashamed to ask, but my family and i need your help. We have no one else to reach out to. Any support is greatly appreciated. The funds will be withdrawn by myself or her husband and used to pay her legal fees to fight for her to stay in the United States
I know it is easy to judge my mom for her mistake, but my whole family is paying the price. Please do not pass judgement, and help support my family during this heart breaking time
