S.W.A.T South Coast Roll - Marathon Attempt
On Sunday 31st May 2015 a group of our skaters will be attempting to skate a Marathon as part of the South Coast Roll at Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit. We’ll be skating to raise money for our league and local Exeter charity SAFE (Stop Abuse For Everyone) who work to deliver quality and specialised services to those affected by domestic violence and abuse.
Each lap of the Goodwood circuit is approximately 2.4 miles long so to achieve our marathon distance we’ll each be aiming to skate 11 laps on the day. For most of our skaters this will be the first time skating a marathon and will be quite a challenge, but one we’re looking forward too!
Of the funds we raise we will splitting it equally between SAFE and our league, with 50% being donated to SAFE and 50% to the league to help go towards our general running, equipment and travel costs.
For more information and details on SAFE (Registered charity number 291415) please see their website www.safe-services.org.uk
We will of course be keeping you up to date with our Marathon attempt online so make sure you follow us on facebook www.facebook.com/SWATRollerDerby and Twitter: @SWAT_rd
